Kitchen display system for restaurants
Ordeli's kitchen display replaces paper: orders arrive grouped by course, split between kitchen and bar, with the clock on every dish and a colour alert when one runs late. Each section sees only its own. Included in the Pro and Enterprise plans.
No card. The kitchen display comes with Pro and Enterprise.
Time is visible, not estimated
Every order carries its clock from the moment it was fired. Green, amber and red as it approaches the expected time for that dish.
Each section sees its own
The bar does not see kitchen dishes and the kitchen does not see the bar's. No more hunting for your ticket among somebody else's.
No paper to lose
No docket falls behind the pass and no handwriting to decipher. And if you prefer paper, it prints in parallel.
Paper does not fail because it is paper, it fails on order
The problem with a printed docket is not that it gets lost: it is that everything arrives at once with no hierarchy. The kitchen decides on the fly what goes first, and that decision depends on who happens to be on the pass that day.
A screen does not cook faster. What it does is stop the running order depending on one person's memory.
By course, not by arrival order
Dishes are grouped by course — starters, mains, desserts — and the whole course is fired at once. A dessert ordered at the start does not begin counting until its turn, so it never sits in red from the first minute.
The waiter can call the next course from their device, and the kitchen sees it immediately.
- Grouped by course, with a button to fire the whole course.
- Split by destination: kitchen and bar each get their own.
- Expected time configurable per dish.
- Colour alert when a dish goes over time.
- A chef can claim a dish so nobody starts it twice.
Any screen you already own will do
The KDS runs in the browser, so an old tablet, a monitor with a mini PC behind it or a TV with an HDMI stick all work. There is no certified kitchen display to buy and nothing charged per terminal.
The device is linked from the panel with a six-digit code and gets flagged as a KDS.
Which plan it comes in
The kitchen display is included in the Pro and Enterprise plans, along with bookings and advanced reports. The Starter plan does not carry it.
If you are on Starter and need it, the plan change is done from the panel and whatever is left of the period is prorated.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep printing dockets as well as using the screen?
Yes. A lot of kitchens want both during the changeover. The system sends to the thermal printer in parallel, routed by destination.
What happens if the internet goes down with a full kitchen?
The waiter app keeps taking orders offline and syncs them when the network returns, without duplicating. If you have the print agent on the local network, tickets keep coming out.
Is it in every plan?
No. It comes with Pro and Enterprise. The Starter plan covers the QR menu, POS, ordering, cashing up and tax compliance, but not the kitchen display.
Can a chef claim a dish for themselves?
Yes. They can claim it and it gets marked with their name, so two sections never start the same dish at once.
How many screens can I put in the kitchen?
As many as fit within your plan's device limit: five on Pro and unlimited on Enterprise. Each one is flagged as a KDS from the panel.
Will a TV do instead of a tablet?
Yes. It runs in the browser, so a TV with a mini PC behind it works. There is no certified kitchen display you have to buy.
